Resonating Body: The main body of the Tanpura is usually made of wood and is hollow to allow for resonance. It may have a rounded or pear-shaped bottom.
Strings: Tanpuras typically have four or five strings, although some variations may have more. These strings are usually tuned to the tonic (Sa), the fifth (Pa), and the octave (higher or lower) of the tonic.
Bridge: The strings pass over a raised bridge on the Tanpura’s body, which helps transmit vibrations to the resonating body, producing sound.
Pegs: Tuning pegs are located at the top of the instrument’s neck, allowing the strings to be tightened or loosened to adjust the pitch.
